Roofing & Construction Dumpster Rental

The 12 yard is a favorite for roofing tear-offs and comes in a dedicated construction pricing tier — because demolition debris is far denser than household junk, and the included tonnage should reflect that. Roofing jobs are billed at our contractor rate.

What Makes It Different

Square from top to bottom

Unlike tapered bins that waste space near the top, our 12 yard containers are square walls all the way up. You get every cubic yard you're paying for — not an estimate.

This bin is the right call when you need…

A compact footprint — fits tight residential driveways in East Grand Rapids, Ada, and Forest Hills without blocking traffic
High weight tolerance — the highest max serviceable weight of any bin we offer (14,000 lbs), ideal for dense debris like concrete and shingles
True usable capacity — square walls mean the 12.58 cu yd rating reflects what you actually get to use
Driveway-safe placement — every rental includes HDPE driveway protection boards (Rolliskate™) at no extra charge
Dedicated construction pricing — a construction dumpster tier with more tonnage built in for demolition debris

Best for these projects

Roofing tear-offs — shingles, felt, & underlayment
Bathroom & single-room remodels (construction tier available)
Concrete, tile, & dense demolition debris
Garage & basement cleanouts
Deck & fence removal
Tight driveways where a 17 yard won't fit
Tip on weight: Roofing shingles, concrete, and tile add up fast — the 12 yard's high weight tolerance is built for exactly this. Doing a roof tear-off? Use the tear-off calculator to estimate the right size before you book. Roofing jobs are billed at our contractor rate.
Included with Every Rental

HDPE Driveway Protection

Every dumpster we deliver sits on HDPE driveway protection boards (Rolliskate™) — not wood blocks. High-density polyethylene is softer than both asphalt and concrete, so it protects your driveway from gouges, impressions, and weight damage. No extra charge. No request needed.

Distributes the bin's weight across a larger surface area
Safe for concrete, asphalt, and lawn placement
Won't splinter, crack, or grind grit into your surface like wood does

Questions

12 Yard Dumpster FAQs

Yes — the 12 yard is one of our most popular bins for roofing tear-offs, thanks to the highest weight tolerance of any bin we offer for dense shingles. Roofing jobs are billed at our contractor rate; just let us know it's a roofing job when you book so we can plan for the weight. Use our tear-off calculator to estimate the right size first. Yes — our construction dumpster and remodel dumpster pricing tier is available in all four sizes, including the 12 yard. Construction debris (drywall, tile, lumber, flooring) is denser than household junk. The construction tier includes 1.5 Tons and charges $65 / Ton/ton on overages — less than our general rate. It starts at $270 for 3 days. See construction & remodel dumpster pricing →
In most cases, yes. The 12 yard's footprint is 93" wide by 154" long — roughly 8 feet wide by 13 feet long. That fits a standard single-car driveway with room to spare. We also include HDPE driveway protection boards (Rolliskate™) under every bin, so the dumpster rests safely without damaging your asphalt or concrete. If you're unsure about your specific driveway, text us a photo at (616) 350-0514 and we'll tell you right away.
Volume-wise, it holds about 12.58 cubic yards — equivalent to roughly 7–8 full pickup truck loads of debris. Weight-wise, the bin can handle up to 14,000 lbs (7 tons), which is the highest max serviceable weight of any bin we offer. General-use rentals include 1 Ton; construction/remodel rentals include 1.5 Tons; roofing jobs are billed at our contractor rate. Overages are billed pro-rated. Heavy materials like shingles, concrete, and tile eat through tonnage quickly — plan your tier accordingly.
It's one of our most popular bins for roofing jobs in West Michigan — specifically because of its high weight capacity (14,000 lbs max). Asphalt shingles are dense, and the 12 yard can take the load without hitting the weight ceiling that limits larger bins. Roofing jobs are billed at our contractor rate — just tell us it's a roofing job when you book. Use our tear-off calculator to estimate the right size before booking.
Your rental includes 3 days. If you need more time, extra days are $20 / Day — just let us know before your pickup window and we'll push it out. Most residential and roofing projects finish within the 3-day window, but we're flexible. You can also request early pickup if you're done sooner.
In most Grand Rapids neighborhoods, street placement is possible but may require a permit from the city. We recommend placing the bin in your driveway whenever possible — it keeps your neighbors happy, avoids permit hassle, and lets us place it with our HDPE pads for added protection. If street placement is your only option, call the City of Grand Rapids or your municipality for permit requirements before booking.
The 17 yard is about 4 feet longer and holds roughly 4 more cubic yards of debris. It's a better fit for projects with lots of lighter, bulky material (drywall, furniture, insulation). The 12 yard wins when your debris is heavy and dense (shingles, concrete, flooring), or when your driveway can't accommodate a longer bin. Both are available in our construction tier. The 12 starts at $260, the 17 yard starts at $285.
We don't carry a bin labeled "10 yard," but our 12 yard exceeds standard 10 yard capacity with a true 12.58 cubic yards. It's built with square walls all the way up — no taper — so you get every cubic yard you're paying for. A dedicated construction pricing tier is also available for jobs with heavy debris. Same-day delivery is available for $30 when slots are open.
